I started out looking for the best bang for the buck. I thought about the Celica, the Acura RSX, the Celica GT-S 6 speed, the MINI Cooper and the Cooper S, and a few others in the back of my head. The RSX is too pricey, the Celica is in demand and hard to get and the Cooper S is a car I just adore driving. 6 Speed, cornering and acceleration like my bike. Looks like the MINI is in the lead.
Well, see, we have 2 SUV's and they have been ok. I like the big engines and the curb-hopping snow anhialating agiltiy. I am just tiring of all the gas guzzling and just basically looking for some more performance. My Jeep liberty (after having 2 Grand Cherokees) will go to my wife because she likes it better than her Grand Cherokee.
Her truck is the 3rd Jeep GC in the Family and we just are tired of them. Add to the fact that the door lock on the driver door does not work, the panel on the passenger door is falling off and the rotors were pulsing a year ago. We got the rotors re-cut under warranty, then the dealer told us later if it happens again they know what the issue is. The calipers are underpowered. Well, we did not bring it in for the calipers since we had the warranty for another few years. Wouldn't you know it, the rotors are warped again. *sigh*
So here we stand, mid-October the GC goes in for lease trade in. Neither one of us want the truck. We need to save money and both need reliable transportation and better mileage. Her taking the Liberty and me getting into something sportier does not sound like a bad deal. Well, she would like to have a more decked out vehicle and the Liberty is almost a base model by today's SUV standards.
Like I said, looks like the MINI is gonna be the winner.
I will be placing my order incredibly shortly after some details are worked out. Stay tuned.
