Zen and the art of balding tires.

Hmmm. Saturday. No plans. Bald tires. Lack of major money.

Go to crafts store, get gift certs for Wifey.

Go to R.S. Straus to get oil for mower and bike. Waste of time.

Stop by Greg's to see if he sold the EX. He hasn't. Slacker...

Went to Pep Boys on Greg's suggestion and to check out the Mini 50-cc choppers. Made me giggle. No oil I wanted to put in my bike there. How freaking hard can it be to find Mobil-1 (Red Cap) Synth 10-W40? Harder than I thought. Oh well, bought some mower oil and some brake cleaner. Resist the urge to go to Wally-Mart...

Figured I'd drive to EH Hon/Yam since I was losing motivation. Not exactly the oil I was looking for but just got some Honda Pro (semi-synth) since I did not want to pay for the other crap they had. Stealers, er dealers. Had a hankering for some Honda Pro polish. Not only does it sparkle, but it smells good.

Back to the house. Change mower oil. egads man. BLACK! All better.

Broke out my fresh $19.89 OEM Suzuki oil filter thanks to the fucking master stealers at Trebour!) and tore down the body work to do a nice swap of lube. Time for a fresh crush washer next time.

While there, why not drain the coolant and swap it for some fresh distilled water and Water Wetter. Pretty pink. Seems to run cooler from the naked (plastics not on bike) test ride.

Back on with all the plastics. Break out the WD-40 for a quick plastics wipe down. Christ, that's it. no more chain lube. Just WD-40! Oh yeah. reminds me I gotta go price chains and sprockets. grrrr.

Back on with the plastics. Time to try out some wheel cleaner. Works OK, some Orange thingy bottle of something Pep boys was kind enough to surely charge me a nice markup on. Ah capitalism and white wheels. Feh, Did a decent job though in a less than dripping wet wash cloth I raided from the linen closet. Shop rags?

Damn, I keep forgetting how nice Honda Pro polish is. it is the Shiznit for all in one cleaning of precious duct-taped, epoxy'ed, bondo'ed, and band-aided body work. The WD-40 in the beginning really helped. God was she filthy.

From there we had beer, mowed the rest of the lawn and now it's officially miller time! But the bikes clean. Even some of my sport-bike pals would be impressed!

So how was your weekend? I'm working my way to Comfortably numb...
